Immigration New Zealand announced the implementation of the New Deal in mid-2021, WTR and other six categories of work sign cancellation

Immigration New Zealand has officially announced that it will introduce a new system of work visas in mid-2021, involving three reviews by immigration, employees and employers, replacing the current six temporary work visas. One of the biggest changes is that the new work visa application process will be led by an employer, who will have to go through three vetting processes if they wish to recruit a work visa holder who requires an employer's guarantee:

Applying to Immigration New Zealand for Employer Certification (employers are required to apply to Immigration New Zealand and pay the application fee) the employer check - approval in principle AIP
Job reviews are the original local market tests;

Work visa applicants, i.e. prospective employees, apply for a New Zealand work visa the migrant work check
All work visa applications will be approved after the approval of the three procedures mentioned above, involving three parties and three different vetting procedures, which greatly increases the cost and difficulty of hiring non-New Zealand natives.

When the new work visa policy comes into effect, the following six employer-guaranteed work visas will be replaced by a uniform temporary work visa (the common feature of these six replaced work visas is that all visas require an employer guarantee and can only work for the employer who guarantees them):

Essential Skills Work Visa Basic Skills Sign
Essential Skills Work Visa - Approved in principle Employer License for Overseas Employee Skills
Talent (Accredited Employer) Work Visa Merit Visa (Guaranteed by Trusted Employer)
Long Term Skill Shortage List Work Visa has long been short of skills
Silver Fern Job Search Visa Silver Visa (actually cancelled in 2019)
Silver Fern Practical Experience Visa Silver II Visa (which is almost gone)

After the implementation of the new temporary work visa policy, the open type of work visa will not be affected and will be implemented in accordance with the current policy (unaffected temporary work visa):

Seasonal workmarks Ford Seasonal Employer Limited Visa

Spouse work visas, including spouse work visa Partnership guaranteed by work visa holders, New Zealanders, and student visa holders
Work visas issued for international or humanitarian reasons, such as family members of diplomats, consular and civil servants, and International or Humanitarian Reasons, a refugee or status claimer
The new work visa policy, due to be implemented in mid-2021, also includes other local adjustments, such as temporary work sign holders who earn less than the median wage in the same market position and must leave the country for at least one year after three years of service in New Zealand to have the opportunity to apply for a new visa. The new temporary work visa still records employer information, job and location as a necessary visa condition. If any of these changes are required, the visa holder will still need to apply for a change of visa conditions or a new visa
