I'm a Brit who lives in the US (Florida to be exact). The main differences are: -The weather: Very long, hot summers and warm winters in FL. Much better than the never ending cloudiness of the UK. -Education: The system is COMPLETELY different. There's too much to explain here, but basically, the US system focus on breadth instead of depth. School finishes at 18 instead of 16, sixth form doesn't exist, and one has to do general education subjects (such as maths and english)at uni. -The people: people over here are very open and helpful, especially when talking about customer service. In England, people are wayyy more reserved. -The infastructure: Down here in FL, everything is very spread out. You NEED a car to get anywhere, especially in the summer.

I think New Zealand has a real long term problem though in that it has such a good reputation it may get overwhelmed with people wanting to move there. For a large country like mine it is not as big of a problem but for a rather small island country it could be. Also, foreigners even from non-English speaking countries can commonly speak English so tend to favor relocating to English speaking countries.

I'm from Canada and NZ seems pretty cool. Canada is very safe for the most part. Our universities are great too but it can be difficult/competitive to get into certain programs. Canadian universities favour foreign students though because they usually pay higher fees + residency than locals so our schools can make a lot of money off of them. I've got Canadian friends that have moved to Australia + NZ for work and Aussie/Kiwi friends that have moved to Canada for work. I guess some people just like adventure and change. No place is perfect. If an opportunity presents itself, you should take it.
