Job Description

We need a solid GPU programmer to work on optimization, algorithm implementation and developing new techniques for technical prototypes.

This is a huge opportunity to work with in a cutting edge AI business and Interact closely with the Engineering and R&D teams at Soul Machines to ensure best possible experience on current generation hardware, and on determining trends and features for next generation architectures.

We need top skills to evaluate and understand latest GPU technology to develop new techniques for technical prototypes and internal R&D projects and tools. You'll also collaborate with R&D team members on computer vision, 3D rendering and GPU based optimisation techniques for specific applications. 

Ideally you'll have strong knowledge of implementing algorithms (e.g. machine learning or computer vision), 3D graphics and other GPU technologies, including shaders, shading languages and rendering techniques. Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming techniques. Experience in DirectX or OpenGL development a strong plus. Good communication skills required. Exposure to general purpose GPU programming frameworks such as CUDA or OpenCL.

We are looking for an energetic, passionate and qualified social worker to coordinate Age Concern Auckland's Asian Service, with a focus on the older Chinese communities.

 

Key responsibilities

Communicate and work towards Age Concern Auckland's vision of "Older people live a valued life in an inclusive society" and further the aims and objectives of Age Concern Auckland in promoting wellbeing, rights, respect and dignity for older people.
Promote the awareness of Age Concern Auckland's services with the principle objectives of mitigating the detrimental impacts of loneliness and isolation, reducing the incidence of abuse and neglect, and promoting positive ageing.
Lead the effective development and implementation of culturally appropriate services, whilst monitoring standards and service delivery.
Take a key role in the planning, development and implementation of service delivery improvements to meet changing needs.
Provide professional advice and support to staff, volunteers and external stakeholders.

 

Skills and experience

Registered qualified social worker with current practicing certificate and ideally at least 2 years work experience in relevant social work (e.g. family violence).
Full clean drivers licence.
Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience of leading a team and/or undertaking caseload and workload reviews.
Experience working in a not-for-profit or community sector and working with people from different backgrounds in a community setting.
Proactive self-starter who is solutions focused.
Able to take a key role in planning and improving services.

Auckland Translations Ltd (www.aktranslation.co.nz) is now seeking a bilingual Chinese translator / office administrator to join us in Albany,  North Shore.   This is a full time position.  The main duties are:

Translate documents, mostly driver licences and non-technical document, from Chinese to English.
Answer customers phone calls in English and in Mandarin; write emails to customers in English and in simplified Chinese.
Help the owner with records and accounts of the office, and other tasks.

 

We would be very keen to hear from you if you meet the following criteria:

 

1. English Language Skills:    

Your English language skills are very close to that of a native English speaker; or you are a native English speaker. For your primary/secondary education, at least 3 years must be in schools where English is the teaching language (the schools can be in NZ, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, UK, Canada, USA or any country where English is one of the official languages); or you have an IELTS score of 7.5 or above.

 

2. Chinese Language Skills:  

You need to have lived in a Chinese-speaking family environment (or studied in a primary/secondary school where mandarin was the teaching language; or have worked in a Chinese-speaking work environment) for at least 2 years.You need to be able to speak fluent mandarin, and know Hanyu Pinyin spellings for the majority of the commonly-used Chinese characters.

 

3. Qualification:   You have a tertiary qualification (level, subject and country is not important).

 

4. Office experience and Computer skills: 

Have good knowledge on computer/internet;   proficient in MS Word and Outlook.   Ideally, you have office experience for more than 6 months.

5. Have good attention to detail.

 

Translation qualification and experience are not required:    On-the-job training will be provided with normal salary.    As long as you meet the above criteria and like the idea of doing translation works, we are very keen to hear from you.
