I have 2 drones at the moment and recently have basically decided not to buy any more of them, doesn't matter how good the gadgetry is of the latest DJI drone, the drone laws here are overly restrictive and overregulated, just like other laws for other things. This is why some of us kiwis call our country "the nanny state". Big brother is always watching and the Govt literally has taxes and fees and rules for every single thing you might want to do. And yes, I have spent the time reading drone rules for other countries (China, Hong Kong, Australia, America), and some other countries actually have less strict drone rules than us. No more drones for me in the future, it's just not worth it here. Biggest problem IMHO is expecting people to go to multiple sources of information to follow the rules, ie- CAA leaflet, district council bylaws, DOC rules, airshare maps, and finding landowners... it's just ridiculous expecting that people will follow ALL the rules when the rules are literally spread out amongst different people and organisations. It's like if you want to drive a car... saying to somebody to attend 3 or 4 different driving schools before they can get a licence. This place man, fricking nanny state. Just like those Lime scooters, suddenly people are using them to the alarmists are in the media now calling for more rules! more laws! more regulations!.

i just bought me my 1st drone rc tech fpv with wifi camera... charged it up took off got a little abbove the roof the wind got it i stoped my user input trying to fly it back bam it had cut the power... had gone two houses down ... man i was flipping out...owned it 4 less then 60 minutes and its laying in some 1s yard either on the roof in some black berry ... my mate who was spotter and a little more experienced in drones.. managed to walk down a drive and there it was......lesson learnt DONT FLY HIGHER THEN THE HOUSE other wise the wind will take it away and drop it in some 1s drive way or worse on some 1s roof!! that would suck... the laws in this country are just crap... TBH fuck the law... they cant stop little shit heads robbing shops selling drugs from every corner house... so until they can inforce the laws proper and fairly .... sue me and take my drone MFers...ill buy another... untill the law is used for FAIR JUSTICE I WONT FOLLOW ALL THESE SHIT RULES... maybe im the dick head ruining it 4 others.... how ever this country is a nanny country of social experiments .... cigerettes and world time high 30gram of capstan 59.90... pack of 20's 26.90 WTF and this is going to stop little intermediate kids doing what there parents do picking up aids infested butts off the road... I will fly my drone wherever i want... obviously not near airports thats just ignorant ... but i will fly it at the crickets grounds... council dont own it so what the law is saying i have to chase some 1 down on face book or ring multiple #'s to get permission... wouldn't 1 think written consent... rather then yeh i wrang a number some dude i answer i asked him can i fly a drone in this park. he say yay .....does this not make it only a verbal contract permission ... and how does 1 know who truely holds the tittle for the land....
