Asian (Chinese) Service Coordinator – Vulnerability to Resilience
We are looking for an energetic, passionate and qualified social worker to coordinate Age Concern Auckland's Asian Service, with a focus on the older Chinese communities.
Key responsibilities
Communicate and work towards Age Concern Auckland's vision of "Older people live a valued life in an inclusive society" and further the aims and objectives of Age Concern Auckland in promoting wellbeing, rights, respect and dignity for older people.
Promote the awareness of Age Concern Auckland's services with the principle objectives of mitigating the detrimental impacts of loneliness and isolation, reducing the incidence of abuse and neglect, and promoting positive ageing.
Lead the effective development and implementation of culturally appropriate services, whilst monitoring standards and service delivery.
Take a key role in the planning, development and implementation of service delivery improvements to meet changing needs.
Provide professional advice and support to staff, volunteers and external stakeholders.
Skills and experience
Registered qualified social worker with current practicing certificate and ideally at least 2 years work experience in relevant social work (e.g. family violence).
Full clean drivers licence.
Fluent in both English and Mandarin.
Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience of leading a team and/or undertaking caseload and workload reviews.
Experience working in a not-for-profit or community sector and working with people from different backgrounds in a community setting.
Proactive self-starter who is solutions focused.
Able to take a key role in planning and improving services.

Age Concern Auckland's "Vulnerability to Resilience" programme is a wraparound service that takes a holistic approach to the well-being of older people, and supports their financial and their physical, emotional, cultural and mental needs.
