Type Full time, PermanentWe are currently looking for an experienced auto mechanic to join our busy vehicle workshop, key duties of this role will include but not limited to:
· Quickly diagnose problems, disassemble units, repair or replace parts, and reassemble units for all makes and models.
· Perform routine maintenance checks and adjustments on fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment.
· Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles
· Remove, repair, reassemble, and replace transmissions, clutches, fuel pumps, oil and water pumps, starters, and generators.
· Grind valves, adjust carburetors, adjust timing mechanisms, and repair and replace connecting rods, cam shafts, bearings, and piston rings.
· Align and balance tires, reline brakes, repair and replace brake drums, set points, reface valves, and rebuild and align front ends, shock absorbers, and related parts and mechanisms.
· Complete preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters etc.
· Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints.
· Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
· Comply with vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
· Overhauls engines, replaces engines, and rebuilds components.
· Fabricate, modify, and install special equipment or replacement parts.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have following skills and qualities:
· Technical ability and good problem- solving skills
· Knowledge of mechanical and electrical system, ergonomics and computers.
· The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans, and to explain them to others
· To be resourceful, able to act on your own initiative and pay attention to detail.
· Flexible and strongly focused on maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
· Minimum 3 years of relative experience, longer experience will be advantageous.
· Hold a valid driver's license.
