Diesel Mechanic (Yorktown Heights NY/Mahopac NY)
Construction company seeking qualified and motivated mechanic to service and repair fleet of trucks and equipment. Trucks range in size from small 350 dumps to tri-axle trucks. Equipment includes pavers, skid steer, excavators, rollers, all other related small equipment, 2 and 4 stroke gas engines.
Applicant must have a minimum 5 years experience with diesel engine diagnostics and repair as well as working on heavy equipment.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Perform routine vehicle inspections and scheduled maintenance
Maintain service records
Retrieve necessary truck parts from various truck parts location
Must be able to do electrical diagnosis and repair malfunctions
Keep trucks up to D.O.T. compliance
Be self-sufficient and able to problem solve and work alone
Be able to comfortably and safely lift 80lbs+
Maintain shop and shop tools in an orderly fashion
Maintain parts inventory
Knowledge of hydraulics and light welding.
Clean drivers license (CDL a plus)
