Reference Invercargill NannyPORSE In-Home Childcare Invercargill is on the lookout for a nanny superstar, our family have given us an explanation of what they are looking for, if you feel you meet this please get in touch!

My wife and I are looking for a full-time nanny who could start with us in March. My wife goes back to work at the end of March. We have an 11-week old daughter, Alexandra. We live just off Queens Drive on Rosewood Drive. We just have one daughter.

We recently moved to Invercargill. I am the Group General Manager for the HW Richardson Group and my wife is a lecturer at Canterbury University. She holds a PhD in Education. Her job means that she does have some travel to Christchurch a couple of days a week during term time but the majority of her work is from our home in Invercargill. We would like a nanny to work from our home so that Bernadette can arrange with the nanny to have some cuddle or playtime with Alexandra during the day when she is working from home.

We are looking for someone who is caring and playful to look after our daughter. We would like someone who can commit to staying with us until at least the end of next year as we think it is a good idea that Alexandra builds a good relationship with this person. The ideal person would help Alexandra with her development, introducing her to new experiences and encouraging her developing abilities. We take a gentle approach to parenting but we are also pragmatic. As we are new to parenting we appreciate the experience of those who have worked extensively with babies like Alexandra previously. As we are new to the community we would appreciate a reliable person who perhaps might be interested in the occasional evening of babysitting outside their normal nanny hours.

Alexandra is a lovely baby with a sweet disposition (although we would say that because we’re her parents!) She only cries when she wants something or is overtired. At present Alexandra is mixed fed, mostly breast but with one bottle a day. At the 6 month mark (end of March) we will probably start to transition her to formula as well as the usual weaning. She also loves to be hugged!”

At PORSE we focus on Natural Childcare and have done so for over 20 years. We love nothing more than seeing children flourish, knowing that we are helping them make positive connections for later life. To do this we base our care on replicating the authentic environments, attached one-on-one relationships and real-life experiences that children would have with their mum or dad.

As a Nanny with PORSE, you will have access to the PORSE activity programme, ensuring the children in your care will get the best of both worlds - low-ratio care provided within their own home environment, combined with the opportunity to participate in wider PORSE community events including Play School, gym sessions, music and outings.

In addition to providing quality early childhood care and education, you will also be responsible for providing additional home support such as children's washing, meal preparation, school runs or driving children to extracurricular activities.

As a relationship-based organisation, we have numerous support tools available to help you be the best you can be, including:

- One-on-one relationship support and monthly visits from caring teachers who offer ‘fit for purpose’ adult education and professional support.

- Free access to weekly programme activities for children and nannies.

- Support to create an active, messy, creative and social play based on decades of experience, research and specialisation in early brain development and understanding the needs of our young ones.

- Free enrolment in Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care.

- Free ongoing professional development opportunities including workshops and short courses.

And so much more…

Becoming a Nanny with PORSE is easy, all we require is that you:

- Are aged 17 years and over.
- Be considered a fit and proper person to be taking care of our most precious citizens.
- Previous experience working with pre-schoolers
