As a Space Facilitator you and your co-facilitator will help parents and their babies connect with other new parents, while exploring parenting, children’s development and most importantly play.
The programme usually runs for three terms and is 3.5 hours a week per programme.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will one of the following qualifications :
Qualifications Requirements are Playcentre Course 4 or above;
· a. New Zealand Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 4) NZ2850, 60 credits; or
· b. Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Level 4) N4500 Manukau Institute of Technology, 60 credits; or
· c. Certificate in Early Childhood Practice – Centre Based (Level 4) NZ Management Academy, 60 credits; or
· d. Playcentre Practice (course 4 of the Playcentre Diploma in Early Childhood and Adult Education); or
· e. New Zealand Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 5) NZ2851, 120 credits; or
· f. Playcentre in Context (course 5 of the Playcentre Diploma in Early Childhood and Adult Education); or
· g. Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Level 5) WR3009 Waiariki Institute of Technology, 120 credits; or
· h. Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Level 5) 110016 Manukau Institute of Technology,121 credits; or
· i. Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Level 5) PR4911 Whitirea Institute of Technology, 260 credits; or
· j. Certificate in Early Childhood Education (Level 5) CA2282a Unitec, CN0904 University of Canterbury,
· PC9774 NZ Tertiary College or Auckland University of Technology, 120 credits; or
· k. Certificate in Education (Level 5) AK1275 Auckland University of Technology, 120 credits; or
· l. New Zealand Certificate in Nanny Education (Level 5) 109540 Nanny Organisation of NZ or PC9101
· Ashton Warner Nanny Academy, 120 credits; or
· m. Certificate in Childcare, Education and Home Management (Level 5) 109272 The Nanny Centre (NZ),153
· credits; or
· n. National Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 5) 430, 126 credits; or
· o. Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) (Level 5) PC1993 Bethlehem Tertiary Institute, 120
· credits; or
· p. Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) (Level 5) WGES02 Victoria University of Wellington, 180
· credits; or
· q. Certificate in Early Childhood Teaching (Level 6) PC2773 NZ Tertiary College, 240 credits; or
· r. The Playcentre Diploma in Early Childhood and Adult Education (Level 6) PC9565, 190 credits; or
· s. The New Zealand Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (Level 6) NZ2852, 120 credits; or
· t. An Early Childhood Education teaching qualification recognised by the Education Council of Aotearoa New Zealand for registration purposes.
· Live in Invercargill area (as well as within Southland, Otago and South Canterbury)
Hold a current First Aid Certificate or prepared to complete this training (paid for by NZPF)
Be a fantastic communicator with confidence speaking within a group· Be prepared to complete Space NZ training online and face to face (paid for by NZPF)
· Be prepared to facilitate at multiple locations
