Type Full time, PermanentWe're looking for a Stock Manager for Haycocks Station, a 6,500 effective ha livestock property running 40,000 su including deer, sheep and cattle. Haycocks station is Located in the Mavora Valley 40 km from Te Anau and an hour and a half from either Invercargill or Queenstown.

This role is primarily sheep and beef with a very small amount of deer work required. You may be an experienced Stock Manager or a Head Shepherd looking to step up to the next level.

The Stock Manager will have a strong focus on animal health and welfare. You will work closely with the Farm Manager to ensure overall planning and farming operations are carried out effectively and meet the desired production and profitability targets.

To be successful in this role you'll need to have a good attitude, high standards, and a high amount of pride in yourself, the team, the stock and the farm. You'll be inquisitive, self-directed, and be open to new ways of thinking.

You will bring the following:

Passion and enthusiasm about all things stock management
Strong feed planning ability
Great communication skills
Detail for updating and maintaining records
Effective time and people management skills
Four to five dogs under good command
Strong understanding and commitment to health and safety
Current and full NZ drivers licence
