We need your help to provide the best support possible to the Southland Conservation Board, and the Department of Conservation, Southern South Island team. You will be based in Invercargill but will have opportunities to work across our whole region.



This role is split 0.5 FTE for Board support and 0.5 FTE for general administration work.

The focus for the board support is to provide high level administration and support to the Southland Conservation Board, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and professionalism at all times.

The focus of the administration half is to carry out general administration tasks including payroll, journals and invoicing.

You will be part of a wider regional administration team who support conservation in the Southern South Island region. You will be a self-starter that supports conservation growth by providing excellent customer service through a multitude of workstreams, as well as providing support to our Operations Managers.



We'd love to hear from you if you have:


Proven experience in minute taking, and report writing at a very high level
Fantastic communication skills - with the ability to engage with a wide range of people
High level of organisation skills, the ability to meet deadlines and good problem solving skills
Ability to deal with confidential/sensitive material with discretion
An understanding of the work of the Department and how it contributes to New Zealand's future sustainability
Computer literate and confident in using Microsoft computer applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Ability to attend meetings out of town
Be an enthusiastic team player, adaptable and able to prioritise work.
