You’ve mastered the basics, and now you’re ready to level up. Intermediate is perfect for those with little to moderate sewing experience. With this dress, you’ll hone your sewing skills in a more complex garment, and look good in it once it’s all done! In making this dress, you’ll master:

- Sewing a raglan neckline
- Adding a collar
- Sewing sleeves
- Adding elastic
- Gathering fabric
- Sewing pockets
- Making rouleau loops for your button loops
- Attaching buttons


Sizing:

This style is a boxy mini dress, designed to fit at the shoulders and flare out in a flattering A-line shape. It fits true to size. When deciding your size, go with your normal dress size when you shop at RUBY. For specific body measurements, refer to our Size Guide.


What You'll Need:

In this pattern, there are 17 pieces:
- Front bodice
- Back bodice (left and right)
- Sleeves (left and right)
- Neck band (front and back)
- Pockets (left and right)
- Button loop
- Middle panel (front and back)
- Bottom panel (front and back)
- Waist tie


Fabric:

Exact fabric meterage (between 2.5m - 3m) will be specified in the Instruction Manual. 


We suggest lightweight to medium-weight fabrics with little to no stretch, such as linen, cotton, denim. Even lightweight wool suiting can be suitable. 


Tools:

- Domestic sewing machine (with zig zag stitch capability) or industrial sewing machine & overlocker
- Fabric scissors
- Pins
- Thread (matching the fabric of your choice)
