About Snowball Effect

We simplify investment into high growth Kiwi companies.

Snowball Effect is a marketplace that simplifies access to a range of alternative investment opportunities. We do this by facilitating offers of securities through public offers, private offers, and wholesale investor offers.

For companies, it’s a complete capital raising package and access to a wide investor audience, so it’s a quick and efficient way to raise funds. For investors, it’s a simple channel to discover and invest in early-stage growth businesses.

Snowball Effect is NZ's leading investment marketplace. We launched NZ’s first equity crowdfunding offer in August 2014, and over our 4+ years of operation, we have raised ~$50m of capital.

Snowball Effect Values

Fair – all information and documents must to the best of our knowledge be clear, concise and effective.
Integrity – we say what we mean and we mean what we say. We seek sustainable growth over short term wins.
Quality – we aim to provide a high-quality service and promote great outcomes for investors and companies using our service.
Experts – we are the experts in growth company capital raising in New Zealand. Team - we will always try and do what is best for Snowball Effect rather than ourselves. We welcome an environment where we can support, challenge, and encourage each other.
Courage – we are pioneers, prepared to take risks to work hard and hustle to lead the way in developing a new more efficient and inspiring capital market in New Zealand.

About the role

Our initial success has paved the way to significantly develop our core offering and explore complementary opportunities. Our target market is the growth sector – typically businesses with several million dollars in revenue, and seeking anywhere from $1–10m in capital to fund growth. For many investors this type of company has a far more appealing risk/return profile, with a far clearer path to exit. As a sector these companies are underserviced – they’re too large for angel groups, and too small for VCs, funds, and brokers. While some of these companies, particularly those approaching a listing, or those who would benefit from the publicity want to offer shares to the public, some are also after larger and/or ‘strategic’ investors. Snowball Effect has an investor audience of ~18,000 investors, with ~1,000 certified as ‘wholesale investors’.

It is important that we develop a pipeline of high-quality companies wanting to raise capital, then tailor the best solution to that company. Our Head of Private Capital is charged with working with investors and companies who are raising capital privately, with the Head of Growth Capital working in tandem to identify high-quality companies who are seeking capital, then work alongside the ones who go through the process of a public raise.

We’re hiring a Growth Capital Associate to support the ongoing development of Snowball Effect’s marketplace, and more specifically the task of working alongside the Head of Growth Capital and Head of Private Capital in preparing the companies for a capital raise, as well as the ongoing development and growth of Snowball Effect.

You’ll provide the skills and expertise to support this fundamental and growing part of our business and continue to develop it into a thriving and highly profitable business unit within our wider marketplace. The role will be challenging as the path forward is largely unchartered, with the role critical to the business.

It’s important that Snowball Effect continues to have a distinctively different voice and retains a personality that distinguishes it from the rest of the capital market, and that both investors and companies are attracted to a far more exciting, personable, and intimate experience as a result. Where possible you’ll want to develop a strong network within the New Zealand capital market, with entrepreneurs, advisors, and investors.

Key accountabilities and opportunities

Support the initial engagement with high-quality, growth companies seeking capital. This will include leading the preparation of the Information Memorandums and supporting other aspects of offer development such as legal and finance. It will also include supporting the development of growth of new products such as the Share Registry, Content Hub, and Investor Profile, as well as other features as they’re released:

Developing high-quality Information Memorandums and other key written information that are central to a successful capital raise. This will mean developing relationships with service providers, company CEO’s, and the wider capital markets community.
Constantly look for opportunities to get in front of high-quality companies and investors
Work with our network to ‘test’ the companies offer before going to the public. Does the written material resonate, are the terms/valuations sensible and fair? Exploring the potential use of new technology and processes that help Snowball Effect become a more efficient operation

Take responsibility for various day to day tasks that are crucial to the continued success of Snowball. Some of these day to day tasks include:

AML/Compliance (where required)
Support of marketing public offers
Ensuring companies are on track to launch in agreed timeframes
New product/feature development
Investor relations/customer support
Supporting shareholder communications between companies and investors (we provide a package to companies to support this)

This is a critical support position within Snowball Effect, and will play a key role in developing an important part of New Zealand’s capital market.

Final words

Snowball Effect benefits from world-class directors and advisors. Day to day we’re a small team of 5 with a flat structure. Everyone in the team has a specific role, with each role commanding significant responsibility. As a company, we’re focused with a clear plan of where we’re heading. We expect performance of the highest calibre, and we’re confident that our remuneration is representative of the investment we expect from each member of the team in Snowball Effect’s success.

We’re here for the long term, and this role provides the right person with an opportunity to shape the future of New Zealand’s capital markets. If you’re excited by this opportunity,

please send your CV to Simeon Burnett at [email protected].

Senior Business Development Manager| jobs in Auckland

weareroam wrote the post • 0 comments • 554 views • 2019-04-02 07:41 • added this tag no more than 24h

ABOUT US

Roam creates innovative digital businesses and products for customers down the road and around the globe. Part of co-creating these amazing new business opportunities for our clients is working together as partners to define the strategy, go-to-market, business models and channel opportunities, as well as taking them through our incredible design sprint process with the customer at the heart of it all. We guide them through the development and launch, as well as the ongoing analytics and deep data insights that are required to evolve and iterate a digital business once it’s out there in the world.

With our global expansion continuing we are looking to build out our Business Development team at all Roam studios. Business development at Roam is about developing our clients’ businesses which therefore leads to our own growth. It’s not “selling” or squeezing in where it doesn’t make sense. It’s about genuinely working together on initiatives that impact a client’s business.

YOUR NEW JOB

Driving our multiple partnerships and channels. These aren’t small.
Bit of farming, bit of hunting, even some fishing if you do well at the first two if you like.
You like planes (though not plane spotting level) and airports as there will be some travel.
Facilitating client workshops and helping them on their digital journey.
It’s personalised engagement here, it’s not a volume game.
Growing our BD function as Roam grows. Opportunities galore!
Build our pipeline, chase new leads and cultivate existing relationships.
Wear steel-capped shoes for kicking in doors to get those initial meetings.
Do rewarding work. Get rewarded.

WHAT YOU KNOW

Workshop facilitation, business modelling, business strategy.
What a solid BD pipeline process looks like. And the red flags too.
Most importantly, what we don’t offer.
OCD about numbers, metrics and a data-driven approach to BD.
You’re connected. You know people. The best people.
Confident talking about development, design and product strategy.
You know your CRM from your MVP, KPI, OKRs and other TLAs.
Strong negotiation skills and experience dealing with C-suite level stakeholders and closing large deals.

WHO YOU ARE

Love events, chatting through past experiences but underneath the surface you can back it up with real world experience. #nofilter
You’ve had a previous life as a Startup founder, Senior Product Manager or Senior Product Designer.
You live and breathe the qualities of an Exceptional Roamer - you’re curious, passionate, honest, empathetic and pursue excellence everyday.
A natural story teller (but no BS) who can weave the client into the narrative as you’re presenting. Being Irish helps.
Own your successes. And also your failures. We’ve been there too.
You’re proactive and take initiative at every opportunity. This means you kick your own arse. Mind the shoes.
You’ve worked in startups and corporates. Perhaps even an agency. We’re not like your old agency.

WHY ROAM?

Brand new renovated offices in the heart of the city - 2 minutes from Britomart, Auckland.
Talented team of genuinely nice people, almost 80 and growing.
Monthly company BBQs on the balcony, dedicated games lounge, active social club and a bustling lunch room everyday.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

The age of JavaScript is upon us so come join us as we tackle frontend, backend, middle-end (where the hobbits are) and everything in between. You know, like mid-front end.

Putting pixels into the all the right places excites you more than it should
‘Slackups’ are a way of life
Working with our mobile and backend developers to create beautiful digital products

Working with backends for games, iBeacons, Taxi Apps, Video Conferencing, Fintech, we build it all.

Explain what a ‘modern frontend build pipeline’ is without googling the answer
How to tame the IE beast
Great experiences are made of stunning interfaces & clever code
All JavaScript code is not created equal (or is that ===)
Bleeding edge can cut both ways
Bonus points for experience with Node.js and GraphQL
The best products are a combination of design, code and a dash of love
CVs to the top of the stack include existing sites, web apps or GitHub repos so you can show us what you got

WHO ARE YOU

You can talk to clients. Yes. In plain English.
You’ve written your own JS web apps in your own time
You know that cutting corners isn't cutting edge

We're a product solutions and consulting company with a variety of work so come join the party! We value UI and design as highly as we do core 'to the metal' coding. Each needs the other to create stunning products and that's exactly what we do.

SENIOR MICROSOFTIE (.NET CORE DEVELOPER) | jobs in Auckland

rush wrote the post • 0 comments • 560 views • 2019-04-02 07:10 • added this tag no more than 24h

We may develop hard and fast, but deep down we’re real softies. Oh, and, like, .NET is a Microsoft framework? Which makes that a funny title? You’ll get used to us...

Position:

Nature: Permanent or Contract Role reporting to Technical Director

Start Date: Immediate/ASAP (April 2018)

Duration: Permanent, FTE 1 year renewal or similar 6-12 mo. contract

Remuneration: Negotiable, based on experience

Location: Parnell Auckland, NZ

About Rush Digital

Ok, so we just love design and tech and we ain’t afraid to show it.

RUSH Digital aims to be the best design/tech studio in the solar system. Join our growing team of 50+ (plus you), fun-loving, hard-working, results-driven, stone-cold-awesome designers, producers, engineers, tinkerers and thinker-er-s.

Use your skills to work on projects that include (but sure as heck, are not limited to): cloud, machine learning, deep learning, hardware, 3D printing, natural language processing, computer vision, mobile front-end, AR, VR, interactive 3D… Really, the list goes on.

Overheard in the office, on real projects:

“We can just use this convolutional neural network approach and remove the depth sensor.” - Engineering Team

“That’s a solution looking for a problem.” - Design Team

“There is no ‘I’ in team, no really there isn’t.” - Production Team

FEEL THE RUSH
Check out this propaganda video, we swear it’s authentic though: https://vimeo.com/264198225

Job Description

Soooo... we are currently in need of a talented, ambitious, senior level .NET developer. You’ll be working on a cutting edge innovation stream of work that links up computer vision based technology and voice tech in an awesomely design-centric mobile application for one of the biggest companies in New Zealand, and one of our favourite partners (so, you better be cool about it).

Skills & requirements

Excellent communication skills.

6+ years of experience with C# .NET (with some CORE) in a commercial setting.

#Backend4lyfe - Strong demonstrated skills in architecture of backend applications, ability to lead backend development from scratch enforcing best practice.

You dig agile development and you really know - and can show your experience with - the whole software dev life-cycle. You’re a start-to-finish kinda kid.

Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS or other cloud platforms.

You need a reasonable opinion around here so you can share recommendations and alternatives objectively. Plus, it helps when deciding where to go for lunch.

You’re effective by nature - you like to move fast, you like prototyping, and you love validating and being thorough in all aspects of your day-to-day job.

Documentation and communication (in-person, email, slack, carrier pigeon if need be) doesn’t scare you.

Bonus skills

Front-end isn’t a cuss word for you: Angular 2+ or React JS.

Well rounded front-end/interactive exposure to things like Unity, Python, JavaScript, Android Java, Objective-C, Swift etc.

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

We work on a modern, streaming stack backed by Kafka and Elasticsearch with Python microservices using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm to deploy.

We fetch event and entity data from a number of sources (entities include things like venues, sports teams, musicians and more) and publish the data to our processing pipelines. Each step in the pipelines do a specific task like standardising, filtering for things like spam, deduplicating, geocoding the data and filling in missing information. Data quality is of the utmost importance. You may not have experience with all of the technologies mentioned above so our dev team will help and support you to bring you up to speed.

As well as the data processing pipelines, we have a number of other projects involving large portions of Data Science and some big plans in our roadmap. This is not a role for the faint hearted, it is challenging, complex and requires innovative thinking.

You will be working within a business that is focused on a shared vision of growing globally and continuing to deliver a unique platform across a diversified set of customers. This role will be immensely rewarding and you will be working alongside an experienced and passionate team who have been involved in starting up businesses that now employ hundreds of staff across the world.
